Rillet Product Updates in January 2025

2025 was a year of consistent, high-velocity product development at Rillet. We shipped 412 new features, averaging more than one feature every day throughout the year. To start 2026 strong, here are this month's updates:

Continuous Close Flux Analysis  

‍Flux Analysis is now a dedicated module under Close Management. This update clearly displays and automates variance detection to speed up your month-end review. Here is a video walkthrough. Key features:

• Automated comparisons: View MoM, QoQ, and YoY variances across all accounts instantly.
• Generate explanations with Aura AI: Explanations are preserved in the export function and include source links for easy investigation.
• Custom materiality thresholds: Set custom dollar ($) and percentage (%) "and/or" logic to flag only the variances that require your attention.

Continuous Close Accruals

‍Rillet’s new AI-powered module automatically generates a monthly, ready-to-review list of accruals for continuous close. Here's what you can expect:

• Accruals are generated by analyzing historical data and you can configure lookback periods to control how much history is considered.
• Get plain‑language rationale for each accrual, and give Aura additional context to instantly refine the analysis.
• Stay in the driver's seat with detailed AI settings, editable suggestions, flexible approve/post workflows, and overrides
• Visualize how your accruals evolve over time, with clear trend views by vendor and across your entire books.

Brex Accounting Integration Upgrade

This enhanced integration is real-time, webhook-based automation that supports complex multi-currency and VAT handling. It utilizes Brex’s full accounting data model, allowing for subsidiary-specific mapping and bi-directional links between systems. Rillet remains the GL source of truth while exposing custom fields in Brex, enabling faster, more accurate transaction coding. Learn more.

By supporting the Model Context Protocol (MCP), Rillet now integrates directly with AI agents like Claude Code. This means your AI can now query your financial data, run reports, and manage Rillet tasks using simple natural language commands. Automated Rules for Transaction Matching

‍You can now automate even more of bank reconciliation by creating deterministic rules based on merchant names or transaction descriptions. Instead of manually classifying recurring bank feed entries, the system automatically creates the corresponding accounting entries—such as mapping "Rillet" to a "Software" account.

Annual and Quarterly Financial Statements Built for Decision-Makers

View Income Statements and Balance Sheets with yearly and quarterly breakdowns to understand performance over time. Gain instant visibility into trends, seasonality, and financial health without manual reporting or external tools.

Flexible SSP Calculations for Complex Revenue Models

Customize your SSP calculations by excluding specific products from the contract's SSP allocation. SSP exclusion is best used for non-revenue products such as pass through costs included on a contract.

Book JEs directly with Aura AI

‍Whether you're recording accruals or expenses, simply tell Aura AI "book a journal entry for me" —transforming chat insights into immediate ledger actions.

Real-Time Vendor Events with API Webhooks

Receive instant vendor updates through webhooks which power integrations and workflows as changes happen. This enables real-time automation and helps teams respond to updates proactively.

Additional Dynamic Invoice Message Fields

You can now automatically insert due dates, company name, and invoice name when building custom messages to customers for invoicing. Generate personalized and accurate invoice communications at scale.

Audit Logs for Contracts and Invoices with Aura AI change summaries

Universal Search for Journal Entries

You can now quickly locate specific journal entries by entering a JE ID directly into the universal search bar.

Expanded Universal Search for Invoices and Customers

Search by invoice number, invoice ID, or customer name and jump straight to the exact invoice—or see the full customer context, including related invoices and contracts. No digging, no guessing.

Filter the GL report by GL Account

‍You can now filter the GL report by specific accounts and export those exact views while maintaining all selected date ranges and filters.

Credit memo exports now self-serve

We’ve added a direct export button to the credit memos page, giving you instant access to your full list of memos whenever you need them.
