Meet Tina Ding, Rillet's New Head of Engineering

We're thrilled to welcome Tina Ding, our new Head of Engineering, to Rillet!
With Tina in the mix, we’re more confident than ever in the direction our engineering team is headed.
Tina grew up in Beijing as the daughter of a software engineer and an accountant. She'll be the first to tell you that probably explains everything. After studying Computer Science and Economics at Northwestern, she started her career not in a typical tech role, but on the trading floors of Barclays and Goldman Sachs. She sat beside traders, building the software they used to execute trades and manage risk in real time.
That experience shaped how she thinks about products.
"You're sitting next to your user and you get a very fast feedback loop," she says. "They ask you to do something, you build it, and you talk to them about how they're actually using it."
It's a mindset she's carried ever since, and one that maps directly onto what Rillet is building for finance teams today.
From Wall Street to Hypergrowth
After Goldman, Tina spent nearly five years at Dropbox, including a formative stretch in an early-stage innovation org focused on zero-to-one product development inside a public company.
She then joined Vanta at roughly the same stage Rillet is at now: category-defining product, growing fast, with copycats starting to appear. Over four years, she rose to Director of Engineering as Vanta scaled to over 12,000 customers and a $4B+ valuation.
Why Rillet
When evaluating her next move, Tina looked for three things:
- A product customers genuinely love
- People she deeply respects
- A real shot at building something generational
She found all three in Rillet.
"Everyone works so hard and cares deeply about the customers and the product we're building," she says of her first week. "The energy is just undeniable."
But what really convinced her was the market opportunity and Rillet's position in it. She sees the general ledger as far more than an accounting tool; it's the foundation for an intelligent finance platform. And she believes Rillet is uniquely positioned to own that future.
"The momentum is fully on our side right now, and we will protect it."
On the competitive landscape, her perspective is clear: "All they want to do is copy us. But our eyes will remain on the customer. That's the real focus."
What She's Building
Her north star is what she calls “escape velocity.”
“We need to get to a point where our shipping pace and product quality creates a gap that no one else can close," she explains.
Tina started her career learning how finance teams actually work from the inside. Now she's building the product that will define how they work in the future.
We couldn't be more excited to have her here.
