Jump transformed its entire finance operation by upgrading to Rillet, going from a 20-to-30-day close with external bookkeepers to closing the books in under two weeks with a single operator. With native integrations, agent-driven automation, and a team of CPAs backing every implementation, Brock built a one-person accounting function that runs at 4x capacity.

Key Pain Points
  • 20-30 day close with quick books.
  • Lack of visibility at a customer leve.
  • Need to do the work of 4 people with only 1 full time employee
  • Lack of native Stripe & Ramp integration causing issues with data accuracy and elongating processes
  • No time for strategic, cross-functional work. Accountants were stuck in the back office
Key Results
  • Close shortened from 20-30 days to under one week, with revenue closed on day 1
  • 4x capacity. 1 person easily doing the job that would require 4
  • 95% of monthly transactions auto-coded, only ~5% require manual review
  • Real-time Ramp sync replaced hours of manual expense coding
  • Stripe integration auto-reconciles 99% of thousands of monthly transactions

The Company

A Big Four alum building a modern finance function from scratch

Jump is the #1 Operating System for  financial advisors and is trusted by over 27,000 users. The platform automates meeting prep, note-taking, and follow-up workflows, saving advisors up to 20 hours per week. Based in Utah, Jump recently raised $80 million in Series B funding. Brock Beyer, a KPMG alum and former TaxBit Controller, joined Jump as its first accounting hire, taking on the Controller role to build the finance function from the ground up.

Coming into his new role, he knew he didn't want NetSuite. He wanted an AI-native ERP.

"AI is really the future. No matter your role, if you are not using it you will fall behind. That is just a fact.."
- Brock, Controller @ Jump

The Challenge

A legacy ERP, external bookkeepers, and no time for strategic work

Before Brock arrived, Jump was running on QuickBooks Online with external bookkeepers handling the close, which took 20 to 30 days. Brock knew from firsthand experience what a legacy ERP could do to a finance team. In a previous role he had implemented NetSuite. The implementation alone took over six months, and everyone congratulated him and the team on how fast it was. Netsuite required modules and add-ons which reduced automated workflows and forced several, manual processes. Additionally, each external tool introduced its own sync issues and maintenance overhead. Brock knew he was not going to put himself through that again! He needed a solution that amplified his work and was instant to onboard.

"Right now, the volume of transactions I see each month is greater than what I saw at my last company and we had 3-4 people at any given time. Most of the items that took so long (e.g. bank matching, Ramp T&E, etc.) are done in real-time throughout the month because of Rillet. It’s allowed me to handle more work than I ever thought possible.

- Brock, Controller @ Jump

The Solution

Rillet's Native ERP and Powering Integrations to Close the Books Fast

Prior to implementing Rillet, Brock had been following the AI-Native ERP’s begin to come out of stealth and come to market. From the beginning he had always wanted to implement one of these newer tools.. His message to the team: show us you can deliver.

The Rillet implementation team matched Brock's intensity. He kicked off the implementation on August 20th. They had their first 1 day revenue close in September. It was that quick.

The speed wasn't just about tools. Brock credits the people. Messages sent at 2am were returned within 20 minutes. The implementation lead pushed Brock as hard as Brock pushed the team. Minimal questions. Fast execution. No wasted cycles.

"I would be messaging at 2am: 'Just got this done, let me know what else you need from me.’. And 20 minutes later: 'Okay, we're done with ___, can you provide __?.' I honestly couldn’t believe their turnaround time and their level of intensity throughout the process. All things considered we were essentially implemented within a matter of a few days.

Integrations That Actually Work

For Brock, integrations are the single most important factor in an ERP. Rillet's Stripe integration auto-reconciles 99% of thousands of monthly transactions without Brock touching them. The Ramp integration syncs in real time and maps cleanly to the GL. He initially spent several hours configuring the system, cards, and workflows, and because of the integration is essentially hands off at this point..

Built-In Expertise as a Competitive Advantage

Brock describes working with Rillet's team as having outside counsel for free. In traditional accounting, help with GL-impact inquiries, liability reconciliations, or opening balance sheet true-ups generally requires hiring consultants for thousands of dollars. With Rillet, he pings his CSM who is also a CPA and gets credentialed accounting guidance within minutes.

"In accounting, you're siloed and alone in the back office. If you need outside help, you're paying thousands for consultation. With Rillet, I can have any GL-impact conversation I want with my CSM. It's like outside counsel, for free."
- Brock, Controller @ Jump

The AI Difference

Chat Bots Vs Operational AI

Brock draws a sharp line between chatbot-style AI (nice to have, nearly zero percent of his buying decision) and rule-based, agent-driven transaction coding (a massive selling point). With Rillet's agents and matching principles, only about 5% of his monthly transactions require manual coding. That operational AI, not the chatbot, is what delivers daily value.

"For us, the AI chatbot was a ‘nice to have’ but wasn’t a ‘need to have’ in our buying decision. The AI we were most interested in was the rule-based agent that automated transaction coding and matching.
- Brock, Controller @Jump

The Results

From back-office isolation to cross-functional impact

The transformation goes beyond faster closes and smaller teams. Brock now has time to work across every department in the company, contributing to decisions that go well beyond accounting. He's gone from someone who would have described his job as sitting at a desk plugging in numbers to someone who says accounting is a cost contributor not a cost center.

“With the continuous close mentality, I am constantly able to spend more time assisting the needs of the company, researching new AI tools, and building more automation across the business. We’ve been able to successfully create agents, vibe code various tools, and give back more than I would have in a traditional accounting role.”
